Wanneer Carl van school wordt geschopt, stuurt zijn moeder hem naar zijn peetvader Quentin, die tevens de baas is van Radio Rock, een piratenzendschip op de Noordzee. Al snel voelt hij zich helemaal thuis tussen het bonte stel DJ’s, voor wie de liefde voor rock ’n roll de alles verbindende factor is.
